Chelsea legend, Petr Cech, has told Arsenal it would be a hard job for them to break the Blues’ goal record.

Despite being impressed by the Gunners’ solidity this season, Cech noted it is a long way to go for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Chelsea has the 20-year-old record for the fewest goals conceded in a Premier League season.

Arsenal are currently sitting four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Right behind them are Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland, with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City out of the top four ahead this weekend’s fixtures.

Arsenal have conceded just three goals in their first nine league games so far this season.

Arsenal would only concede around 13 goals throughout the entire season if they continue with their current form.

And with that, the Gunners would break Chelsea’s 15-goal record set in the 2003/04 season under Jose Mourinho.

The likes of John Terry and Cech helped Chelsea keep the highest clean sheet in the league so far.

Cech, who also played for Arsenal, was responding in a TikTok video when asked by Terry if Mikel Arteta’s side could break Chelsea’s record.

He said, “If they carry on like that, then they have a chance, but at the same time, it’s a hard job. 38 games, you need to have a little bit of luck sometimes.

“I think it will be hard for them to break our record, but I will be following because they started well.”

Chelsea will travel to north London on Saturday where they will lock horns with third-placed Tottenham Hotspur with the hope to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
