Wilfred Ndidi can’t hide his disappointment following Besiktas’ 3-2 home defeat to Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce.

Besiktas led 2-0 courtesy of strikes from El Bilal Touré and Emirhan Topcu.

A red card to Orkun Kökçü however shifted momentum in favour Fenerbahce, who rallied to claim maximum points.

Ndidi claimed that the numerical advantage contributed to Besiktas’ defeat.

The Nigeria international, however, said it is important for the team to stay united and focus on the task ahead.
“The match was going well for us. We even took a 2-0 lead. When we conceded a goal after the red card, the opponent gained momentum,” Ndidi told bein Sports.

“We wanted to stay in the match. We had a fighting spirit. We need to build on that a little more. We know we have quality. We must all stay united.”
