Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, on Wednesday, made history after his side’s UEFA Champions League 4-1 win against Borussia Dortmund.

Recall that goals from Haaland, Phil Foden (2), and Rayan Cherki gave Man City the victory against Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland’s goal against the Bundesliga side was his 27th goal of the 2025/26 season in just his 17th game for both club and country so far.

It was also his fifth Champions League goal of the season as he is just one goal behind Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, who has six goals in the competition.

However, Haaland’s goal against Dortmund saw him achieve another record by becoming the first player in the competition’s history to score in five consecutive games for three different clubs (Man City, Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg).

Speaking about Haaland after City defeated Dortmund, teammate Jeremy Doku said the Norway international is so important for Pep Guardiola’s side.

“In terms of numbers, Erling is unbelievable.

“Even tonight he scored one goal, but he’s so much more than just goals and assists. He provides that for us – he’s so important for us.”
