The likes of Dinamo, Malmö, Nice and Rangers suffered shock defeats at home.
 
Aston Villa and Midtjylland won against Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Celtic, respectively.

Utrecht and Sturm Graz drew against FC Porto and Nottingham Forest, respectively.
