Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Ayo Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has expressed his pride in his first son, Boluwatife Ayodeji Balogun (popularly called Tife Balogun), following the successful release of his debut extended play (EP).
On Tuesday, November 11, Boluwatife officially dropped his first music project titled “Champion’s Arrival.”
At only 14 years old, Boluwatife has reached a major milestone his debut project “Champion’s Arrival” quickly climbed to No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, a feat that eludes even many established artists.
A viral video circulating online shows Wizkid being asked about his son’s new EP during his appearance at a New York Knicks basketball game.
“We love it, man. He’s my kid, you know.”
When asked whether fans could expect a collaboration between the father-son duo, Wizkid simply laughed and replied, “Come on,” before walking off with his entourage.
Earlier, on October 28, Legit.ng reported that Boluwatife and his mother, Shola Ogudu, had teased the upcoming project by sharing a short promotional video on Instagram.
A clip of Wizkid’s reaction to his son’s EP has since gone viral across social media platforms.
