Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has claimed that Arsenal have already played their toughest game of the season.
According to Shearer, the Gunners will not face a more difficult opponent than Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Mikel Arteta’s men were held to a 2-2 draw last weekend, thanks to a late equaliser by Brian Brobbey, who ensured the hosts remained unbeaten on their home turf.
Following the November international break, Arsenal will host north London rivals Tottenham before playing Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
But Shearer told BetFair: “I doubt Arsenal will have a tougher game this season than the one they had at the weekend [against Sunderland].
“I’ve been mightily surprised at how well Sunderland have done.
“I think one thing that’s come out of Sunderland is how tough it’s going to be for any team going to the Stadium of Light.
