Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has sparked mixed reactions online after a video from his latest concert went viral.
The Afrofusion icon, currently on his “No Sign of Weakness” world tour, abruptly paused his show in Denver, USA, when he noticed something that didn’t sit well with him.
In a trending clip shared by @Hypetribeng, Burna Boy who recently embraced Islam was seen stopping his electrifying performance to address a female fan who appeared to be sleeping in the crowd. The singer, visibly displeased, demanded that her boyfriend escort her out of the venue immediately.
At first, many attendees thought he was joking, but Burna Boy quickly made it clear that he meant every word.
He said:
“I’m doing no more song until you take her home. Walahi, they must go.”
The statement briefly stunned the audience, who then burst into laughter and murmurs. Still, Burna Boy refused to continue performing until security helped the couple leave the premises.
Reports suggest that the singer, known for his high-energy stage presence, wanted to maintain an energetic atmosphere throughout the concert something he takes seriously at all his shows.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Burna Boy has removed fans from his concert. Back in 2019, during a show in Atlanta, he refunded a fan’s ticket and asked him to leave for not being “vibey enough.”
