Real Madrid have officially renamed their legendary home ground, formerly known as the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, to simply “Bernabéu.”

The announcement came on November 12, 2025, as the club unveiled a fresh logo and new corporate branding aimed at modernizing its global image.

The decision marks a major shift in the club’s identity, as the stadium has carried the name of Santiago Bernabéu de Yeste—one of Real Madrid’s most influential presidents—for over seven decades. According to reports from Football España and Mundo Deportivo, the simplified name “Bernabéu” is part of a broader marketing strategy designed to make the stadium’s brand more recognizable and appealing to international audiences.

Despite the name adjustment, Real Madrid have emphasized that the change doesn’t erase Santiago Bernabéu’s legacy. His contributions to the club remain deeply honored, and the historical essence of the stadium endures.

The rebranding aligns with the completion of the venue’s extensive renovation, which introduced state-of-the-art features like a retractable roof, futuristic façade, and multi-purpose facilities.

The newly branded Bernabéu is now set to host a wider range of global events, including concerts, esports tournaments, and even an upcoming NFL game—the first of its kind in Spain. This move positions Real Madrid’s stadium as not just a football ground but a world-class entertainment hub capable of rivaling the likes of Wembley and the Allianz Arena.
