Nollywood comedian Olatayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has called on Big Brother Naija season 10 winner, Imisi, to put an end to the ongoing social media feud with her mother.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Sunday evening, Ijebu addressed Imisi directly, urging reconciliation.
According to Newsunplug, the tension between Imisi and her mother emerged after she received the N150 million prize from BBNaija.
During her time on the reality show, Imisi shared details of a difficult childhood, revealing that she had an abortion at age 13 following two instances of sexual abuse at 12. She also recounted being sent out of her home by her father at 11 and having to sell fufu with her grandmother, only for her grandmother’s home to later burn down.
Weeks after her BBNaija victory, Imisi’s mother appeared in a viral video claiming she had been abandoned. Addressing the situation, Imisi questioned why her mother’s complaints surfaced only after her win, highlighting the lack of support during her earlier struggles.
“Before I won BBNaija, I was living my life and you wouldn’t even check on me for a year or two. Why is this a problem now?” she asked. She also emphasized that she had been sending money to her mother regularly, stating, “I still sent money to you last week and four days ago. I have people in my family depending on me; the prize money isn’t for anyone’s comfort alone.”
Ijebu responded to the controversy by urging Imisi to reconcile with her mother, describing her as a “mini god” in her life. He advised, “Imisi, I know you are a good girl. The Bible teaches us to honour our parents. Tonight or tomorrow morning, I want you to visit your mother, kneel before her, apologize, and let her pray for you. Regardless of the past, she is still your mini god on earth. After this, I don’t want to see any more online conflicts. If I do, I’ll be very upset.”
