Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Zics Aloma, has shared strong views on marriage, stressing that a man must be financially stable before deciding to wed.

Taking to Instagram, he emphasized that despite societal pressure, finances must be the priority. He shared his personal outlook, even though he is already financially stable:

“I remember my mom calling me on my 34th birthday, asking when I would get married. Even though I’m financially stable, I still feel I’m not ready because there’s a kind of life I want to give myself, children, and wife.”

Zics Aloma recounted a cautionary tale about a friend who rushed into marriage believing it would bring blessings, but subsequently struggled financially and repeatedly sought help:

“He sent me an invitation that he wanted to get married, saying marriage brings blessings. Soon after, he told me his wife was pregnant. I took on the responsibility, but at some point, I had to block him because he wasn’t ready to be responsible as a family man.”

The comedian strongly advised young men, particularly Gen Z, to develop a skill early in life as preparation for the financial responsibilities of marriage.
