Nollywood actor, Taye Arimoro has filed a legal complaint against actress and producer Peggy Ovire, demanding ₦100 million in damages and a public apology following an alleged assault on a movie set.

In a letter dated November 18, 2025, from Inibehe Effiong Chambers, Arimoro claimed that his rights were violated while working on the movie set.

His contract reportedly ended at 11:59 PM on November 11, but he alleged that attempts to leave the set were blocked.

According to the complaint, his vehicle was obstructed by the production manager, and another car allegedly blocked the exit. Fearing for his safety, Arimoro started an Instagram Live to document the situation.

The issue reportedly escalated at the estate gate, where Peggy Ovire and her team members allegedly confronted him.

Arimoro claims that his tyres were deflated, he was surrounded by several people, and he suffered injuries including a fractured mandible, bite marks, and bruises, he also alleged that his phone was tampered with during the incident.

His lawyers argued that the events violated his rights to personal liberty, movement, and dignity, causing emotional trauma and loss of earnings.

They are demanding a public video apology on all of Peggy Ovire’s social media platforms as well as ₦100 million in damages.

Peggy Ovire has seven days to respond to the complaint, and as of this report, she has not made any public statement regarding the matter.
