Reality TV star Alex Amuche Asogwa, widely known as Alex Unusual, has spoken out against the life imprisonment sentence handed to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu was convicted on seven terrorism-related charges on Nov. 20 and subsequently given a life sentence.
In an open letter addressed to President Bola Tinubu, Alex described the judgment as unjust. She noted that individuals involved in terrorism have, in some instances, entered negotiations with the government and even received pardons.
She also highlighted how corrupt officials often escape accountability despite looting public funds.
Alex questioned why Kanu’s case, “with all its complexity and historical weight,” ended with such a severe punishment.
“I’m saying this feels like selective justice from the judicial system,” Alex wrote.
