Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut expressed delight as his side ended their four-game winless run in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Solid Miners thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0 in a Matchday 14 encounter at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
Anas Yusuf scored twice, with Garba Mohammed also on target for the hosts.
Nasarawa United returned to the summit following the comfortable victory.
Mangut could not hide his excitement after the game and is looking forward to his team’s next fixture against Warri Wolves in Ozoro.
“I feel very excited. We planned to approach today’s game differently and I am glad it paid off with multiple goals,” he told the club’s media.
“I give respect to the opponents because they also had their playing time, and created some chances.
“Our next game will be taken as it comes against Warri Wolves in Delta State. It’s a long journey, but we hope to approach it with high hopes and expectations.”
