Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be without two key players when his team faces Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night due to injury.
Guardiola spoke at his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the Leverkusen clash.
The two players are midfielders Rodri and Mateo Kovacic, who are still recovering from injury.
Guardiola’s side head into the game following a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend.
When asked for an update on Rodri and Kovacic, and whether both players would be ready for the Leverkusen game, Guardiola told reporters: “Not for tomorrow, [Apart from them] everyone else is ready for tomorrow.”
Manchester City have won the Champions League once under Guardiola, in 2023, after beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final.
