Afrobeat sensation Ebunoluwa Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is making headlines again after footage from one of his recent U.S. concerts surfaced online.
The artist, who recently faced criticism for asking a female fan to leave one of his shows, kicked off his tour just a few days ago. He performed at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on November 22, and videos from the event have drawn attention on social media.
In the clip, the venue appears largely empty, with reports suggesting only 2,000 tickets were sold for the 18,000-seat arena. The footage shows a woman calmly sleeping during Burna Boy’s performance, surrounded by empty seats both in front of and beside her. A few attendees were seated further away, watching the show, but the sleeping fan seemed unaffected by the music and crowd noise.
Many viewers commented on the video, joking that had the woman been in the front row, she might have been asked to leave for “disrupting” the performance similar to a recent incident where Burna Boy sent away a fan who had experienced a personal tragedy.
The clip has sparked renewed discussion about the singer’s reportedly strict behavior toward fans at his concerts. Another older video circulating online shows Burna Boy refunding a fan and asking them to leave, telling another attendee that their presence was “discouraging” him.
