Nigeria defender Benjamin Fredrick has been ruled out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with injury.
Fredrick sustained a knee injury during training with Belgian Pro League outfit FC Dender.
The 20-year-old featured in Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs against Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The rising star has started Nigeria’s last six games under Eric Chelle.
The versatile defender missed Dender’s 2-1 victory over Royal Antwerp last weekend due to the injury.
Fredrick is expected to return to action after the AFCON.
