Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy has reportedly called off five arena shows from his ongoing ‘NSOW Tour’ following a drop in ticket sales in several locations.
Reports suggest the decline came after a video circulated online showing Burna Boy removing fans from a concert for allegedly “sleeping” during his performance. The clip sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing the singer of being disrespectful toward his audience.
As a result of the backlash, interest in the remaining tour dates reportedly dwindled, prompting his team to quietly adjust the tour schedule.
During a recent performance in Dallas, the Grammy-winning artist addressed the controversy, apologizing to fans and asking for their understanding. He stated: “I know my ticket sales are suffering since that incident. Even the coffee I introduced no one is buying. So please, I am sorry to everyone and everything I said. It was a slip of tongue.”
In other news, Nigerian rapper Olamide Baddo has clarified that he is not shy, countering a common misconception. Speaking on the ‘Ada’s Room’ podcast, he explained that his reserved nature is often mistaken for shyness. “One thing I wish people could understand about me is I am not shy, I am just laid back,” he said.
