Rivers United captain, Temple Emekayi has promised their fans they will rise to the occasion against RS Berkane, DAILY POST reports.
Finidi George’s side will look to bounce back from the defeat to Pyramids FC when they host the Moroccans at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday (today).
It will be a huge test for Rivers United, who are making their maiden appearance in the group stage of the competition.
RS Berkane won the CAF Confederation Cup last season, and are currently rated one of the best clubs in Africa.
Emekayi said it is important for his team to get maximum points from the game.
“Although we would have been happier playing in front of our own fans in Port Harcourt, this is a situation beyond us and we just have to make the best of it.
“It is incumbent on ourselves, the players, to rise from the defeat to Pyramids in Cairo and get a good result against RS Berkane on Friday. We will go in there and give our very best.”
