The Referee Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has suspended indefinitely, Nyah Victor from officiating in the Nigeria National League, NNL.

The referee’s suspension was contained in a statement signed by Ameenu Mohammed on Friday.

Nyah, who was the center referee in the clash between Rovers FC and Ekiti United in Uyo was reported to have awarded an unjustified penalty in the match.

The statement reads,ā€Our investigation discovered that you awarded an unjustified penalty in the match between Rovers FC and Ekiti United. Your action did not only negatively affect the outcome of the match but equally brings the game to disrepute,ā€

ā€œIn view of this, you have been indefinitely stepped down from all league matches and other matches.ā€

DAILY POST reports that Nyah was the first referee to be suspended by the league body in the new season.
