Victor Osimhen returned to action as Galatasaray were held to a 1–1 draw by city rivals Fenerbahce on Monday night.

Osimhen was named in the starting line-up by head coach Okan Buruk after recovering from a minor hamstring injury sustained during international duty with Nigeria last month.

The injury had forced the striker to miss Galatasaray’s previous two matches against Istanbul Başakşehir and Union Saint-Gilloise.

The 26-year-old was closely marked throughout the encounter by the Fenerbahce defence, led by captain Milan Škriniar.

The forward was booked in the 71st minute for a rash challenge and was replaced by Mauro Icardi one minute from time.

Germany international Leroy Sané gave Galatasaray the lead with a deflected effort in the 27th minute.

Substitute John Durán equalised for Fenerbahce deep into stoppage time.
