Just hours after Spotify Wrapped 2025 dropped, Nigerian music fans flooded social media with posts showcasing their top songs and artists of the year.

While many listeners stayed loyal to their favourite musicians, others surprised the internet with unexpected combinations pairing gospel and spirit-filled tracks with secular hits. These unusual mixes sparked conversations online, especially within the Christian community.

The trend even caught the attention of gospel singer Dunsin Oyekan, who reacted with a simple eye-emoji, hinting at his surprise. He added:

“Spotify wrap. These mixtures…”

Spotify Wrapped gives users a breakdown of their yearly listening habits, from top artists and top five songs to total minutes streamed. To view it, users simply open the Spotify app and tap the Wrapped banner at the top to access their personalized story and highlights across music, podcasts, and audiobooks.

Oyekan’s reaction stirred further debate, as some users expressed disappointment over the inconsistency in people’s music choices.
