AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has claimed that he was never invited to play for Nigeria.

The 27-year-old currently represents England at international level.

Tomori came through the Chelsea Academy, bursting into the limelight under Frank Lampard in the 2019/2020 season.

He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Nigerian parents, making him eligible to represent both countries.

After playing for the Canadian youth team, he switched to England’s U-19s when he was 18.

“Nigeria isn’t bad, though. All my boys are there. Ola [Aina] is there, Mola [Lookman] is there, and Alex [Iwobi] is there,” Tomori said on Filthy Fellas Podcast.

“It’s not like I wouldn’t have played there, but they never called me, so I never had a choice to make.

“If they called me, I would have a decision to make, but they never officially called me.”
