Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s victory over Kano Pillars.
The Pride of Rivers defeated Kano Pillars 1-0 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.
Boluwaji Sholumade netted the winner for Rivers United in the game.
Finidi believed that the rescheduled matchday 15 win over the Sai Masu Gida will boost the morale of his players after the CAF Champions League loss to RS Berkane last Friday.
“It’s was a difficult game, we knew from the on set because for us coming from the defeat in Uyo it affected the players a bit psychologically,” Finidi stated in a post-match interview.
“In the first half the players were a little bit sloppy but in the second half they pushed to see how to get the goal but luckily for us we scored and we are happy with the victory.”
