Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James has insisted Arsenal remain favourites to win the Premier League, despite losing 2-1 to Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Gunners conceded a late winner scored by Emi Buendia, after Leandro Trossard cancelled out Matty Cash’s opener.
Hours later, Manchester City closed the gap at the top to two points, with a 3-0 victory over Sunderland.
“What’s encouraging for the other clubs is when Arsenal do concede, they do look a little bit vulnerable,” James told Stadium Astro.
“Villa showed strength, ability and determination and if the other teams can do that they could reduce the gap on Arsenal. But that’s not to say Arsenal aren’t still the favourites.”
