Super Eagles stars Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze delivered standout performances as Fulham claimed a 3-2 away win over Burnley, extending the Clarets’ losing run to seven Premier League matches.
Harry Wilson was the driving force, assisting twice before getting on the scoresheet himself in a result that underlined Fulham’s attacking efficiency and Burnley’s defensive struggles.
Fulham strike early, Burnley respond
Fulham took the lead when Wilson’s low corner slipped through Burnley’s near-post defence, allowing Emile Smith Rowe to turn the ball in from close range.
Despite their poor form, Burnley responded positively, with Bernd Leno first denying Lesley Ugochukwu before the midfielder later finished calmly from Josh Cullen’s through ball to level the scores.
Bassey punishes poor defending
The visitors regained control just after the half-hour mark. Wilson again provided the delivery, and Bassey was left completely unmarked to head home from close range, capitalising on Burnley’s disorganisation inside the box.
Chukwueze sets up Wilson to seal it
Burnley pushed after the break but were repeatedly frustrated by Leno. Fulham then made it 3-1 when Chukwueze picked out Wilson, who guided a composed finish into the far corner to effectively kill the contest.
Late rally falls short
Substitute Zian Flemming briefly injected energy for the hosts, and Oliver Sonne netted his first Burnley goal late on.
