Afrobeat musician and activist Seun Kuti stirs controversy after sharing his views on prayer and religious practices.
In a recent statement, Kuti said he has never prayed in his life and does not believe in the effectiveness of prayer.
He criticised what he described as performative religious acts, including public displays of worship such as kneeling, rolling on the ground, and shouting during prayers, which he characterised as unnecessary and immature.
According to the singer, true spirituality is reflected not in outward rituals but in how a person lives their life.
He argued that one’s actions, values, and daily conduct matter more than verbal prayers or dramatic expressions of faith.
