Super Eagles right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel has expressed sadness over teammate Ryan Alebiosu after the Blackburn Rovers player suffered an injury setback.

Alebiosu made his debut for the Super Eagles against Uganda in Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final Group C fixture on Tuesday.

But sadly, Alebiosu suffered an injury on his right leg against the Cranes during the encounter.

The 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for a month because of the injury, prompting Osayi-Samuel to extend his best wishes for a speedy recovery.

“Ryan had a great debut and it was good to see,” Osayi-Samuel said to Elegbete TV Sports.

“But, unfortunately, getting injured on your debut is a bit sad.

“But overall, I am sure he’ll be happy he made his debut at the AFCON and played well. I wish him all the best.”
