Nigerian DJ and singer Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that she is temporarily stepping away from social media to embark on a 21-day biblical fast.
The announcement was made through posts shared on her Instagram Stories, where she explained that the decision was intentional and personal.
According to the entertainer, the break comes as part of her desire to reset spiritually and dedicate focused time to God at the beginning of the year, especially after facing criticism in recent weeks.
DJ Cuppy acknowledged that going offline would be unusual for her, as she is known for engaging her followers daily. However, she explained that the fast and period of reflection are necessary at this stage of her life.
She noted that events from the past few weeks made her realise the need to withdraw from public visibility more than ever.
The singer added that the 21-day fast requires discipline, focus, and quietness, which influenced her decision to stay off social media throughout the duration.
Cuppy stressed that her decision was not due to external pressure but was driven by a personal conviction to prioritise her spiritual and emotional wellbeing.
“I need time for myself and time being hidden with God,” she wrote, suggesting she has personal matters she wants to process privately.
Anticipating concern from fans, the DJ reassured her followers that she is doing well and urged them not to panic over her absence online.
She concluded by saying that although staying offline feels strange for someone who posts daily, she is committed to completing the fast and will return after the break, refreshed and stronger.
