Former Arsenal centre-back, Johan Djourou, has picked four countries as the strong contenders to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

According to him, they are Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Morocco and Senegal.

Djourou, speaking with Soccernet, said the Super Eagles have a genuine card to play at the tournament.

The ex-Switzerland international also praised the growth of football in Africa.

When asked to name his favourites for the title, Djourou said: “It’s tough.

“Morocco at home will be tricky. I think Nigeria has got a card to play.

“Ivory Coast as defending champions as well. Senegal are a very strong team.”
