New Manchester City signing, Antoine Semenyo has revealed why he took the club’s hero Yaya Toure’s number 42 jersey number at Etihad.

Man City officially announced Semenyo as their new player on Friday.

The 26-year-old forward joined the Cityzens from Premier League side Bournemouth.

Explaining his decision to take the No.42 jersey, Semenyo said at his first interview as a City player:

“It was my first number at Bristol City when I first signed, and that always stuck with me.

“It was either 42 or 24, and 24 wasn’t available, so I went back to my first number,” he said.

Semenyo is expected to play Man City’s Premier League clash with Man United in the coming days.
