Super Eagles defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel has predicted the outcome of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal clash between the Super Eagles and the Desert Warriors of Algeria.

The defender said he does not worry too much about Algeria’s strong defense as Nigeria gets ready to face the North Africans on Saturday.

Nigeria is coming into the game in good attacking shape, having scored 12 goals in their last four matches.

Algeria, on the other hand, have only let in one goal so far in their journey to the final eight.

Despite this the Birmingham City full-back says the Super Eagles are ready to beat the North African team.

He said to the reporters in Morocco, “You’re facing the best attacking team in Africa, in my opinion, so we’ll do our best to win.

“We take each game as they come. We understand what’s really on the line, we know that Nigerians are rooting for us to win this match, and we will give our best effort to make sure we come out on top.”

Osayi-Samuel added, “I think the goal is to make sure we don’t arrive first, so we can try to win before penalties, even before extra time.

“Because if you look at how we began the games, we started strong, and you want to do that against Algeria.”

Speaking more about Algeria, he said, “Great team, very good team. They haven’t conceded, I saw the last match, and they are really skilled players.

“I believe we have the ability to win the game.”

Nigeria will take on Algeria in the quarterfinals on Saturday at the Marrakesh Stadium.
