Popular Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has spoken candidly about the distressing experience he endured during a one-week detention following his arrest after a car accident on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The arrest came at a difficult time for the teenage streamer, who was already dealing with emotional turmoil after a painful breakup that unfolded publicly on social media. In a livestream prior to the crash, Peller appeared visibly overwhelmed, expressing how deeply the heartbreak had affected him.
Shortly after the emotional broadcast, he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a roadside culvert, causing panic among bystanders who quickly intervened and rushed him to a nearby hospital.
Reflecting on his time in custody, Peller said the combination of emotional pain, the accident, and his unexpected arrest left him mentally and physically drained. He explained that his state of mind affected his appetite, making it hard for him to eat while he was being held, as he struggled to process everything that had happened.
The content creator also shared that he repeatedly told officers the accident was not intentional, but his explanations were allegedly dismissed. Despite his pleas, he was detained for an entire week.
Adding to his disappointment, Peller revealed that several celebrities he believed would support him failed to do so during his detention. According to him, only a handful reached out, a realization that deeply affected him.
Recalling the painful moment, he said:
“I called on many celebrities to help my life; I will tell you who came and who did not. Nobody cared about me; I looked like a useless boy.”
Despite the ordeal, Peller expressed sincere gratitude to his fans for standing by him and advocating for his release. He described their support as invaluable, noting that it helped him through one of the darkest periods of his life, and he remains deeply thankful for their loyalty.
