Nantes’ center-back, Chidozie Awaziem has identified Brahim Diaz as the most dangerous Moroccan player the Super Eagles must watch out for when the host country plays Nigeria in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, on Wednesday.

Nigeria will face Morocco on Wednesday night, meaning they will come up against Diaz who has been playing very well in the AFCON and is seen as one of the main dangers for the host team because of his great goal-scoring form.

The Real Madrid player is leading the goal-scoring list with five goals, scoring in every game he has played in the tournament so far.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, Awaziem praised the Moroccan forward’s skills, calling him a dangerous player who needs to be watched carefully during the match.

“We know Brahim Diaz is a dangerous player. We need to watch him carefully,” he warned.

“We’ll try not to let him play the way he likes because we know how dangerous he can be.”

He, however, was sure the Super Eagles could deal with the challenge, saying the team had already beaten some of the best players in the tournament so far.

“We have already faced some really big players and we managed to stop them before. I think the players all know what they need to do.”

Awaziem said the players are completely focused and ready in their minds for the match, and everyone understands their own job on the field.

A victory for the Super Eagles would guarantee their spot in the final, where they will compete against the winner of the other semifinal match between Senegal and Egypt.
