Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle, has said his team will fight hard to secure third position at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, NEWSUNPLUG reports.
The three-time champions will face the Pharaohs of Egypt in the third-place match at the Mohammed V Stadium, Casablanca on Saturday.
Nigeria finished second second at the previous edition of the AFCON hosted by Cote d’Ivoire.
Chelle said his team can’t afford to go back home empty handed this time around.
“We have to go back to Nigeria with the third place,” Chelle said during his interaction with the media on Friday.
The Malian has been credited for the Super Eagles’ impressive display in Morocco.
The 48-year-old is already looking to injecting new players into team despite the uncertainty surrounding his future.
“If God gives me the chance to be the coach after the AFCON, I’d love to bring in more players for the team,” added Chelle.
