Ex-Chelsea player is set to make an unexpected return to the Premier League in the January 2026 transfer window.

Former Chelsea star player, Tammy Abraham, is reportedly set for a sensational return to the Premier League as Aston Villa edge closer to securing the striker’s signature from the Turkish Super Lig side, Beskitas. The move marks a high-profile homecoming for the forward, who remains a fan favorite at Villa Park following his prolific loan spell during the club’s 2018-2019 promotion campaign.

With Unai Emery looking to bolster his attacking options for a grueling domestic and European schedule, Abraham has emerged as the ideal candidate to provide competition and cover for Ollie Watkins. The 28-year-old England international has spent the last several seasons in Italy, first with AS Roma and most recently on loan at Beskitas, but has long been rumored to be eyeing a return to his home country.

Insiders suggest that the deal is in the final stages of negotiation, with Villa prepared to pay a fee in the region of £25 million to bring the striker back to the Midlands. Abraham’s physical presence, proven aerial ability, and clinical finishing are seen as the perfect tactical fit for Emery’s system, which relies heavily on dynamic forward play and high-intensity pressing.

The move carries significant emotional weight for the Villa faithful. Abraham’s previous stint in claret and blue saw him score 26 goals in a single Championship season, a feat that cemented his status in the club’s modern history. Since then, he has gained invaluable experience in Serie A and the Champions League, adding a layer of tactical maturity to his natural goal-scoring instincts.

While West Ham and Everton were also reportedly monitoring his situation, the lure of reuniting with Aston Villa and playing under Emery’s ambitious project proved to be the deciding factor. For Abraham, the move offers a chance to reignite his Premier League career and force his way back into the England national team conversation ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

As the transfer window enters its final stretch, the arrival of Abraham would signal a major statement of intent from the Villa board. The club is no longer just fighting for European spots; they are building a squad capable of sustaining a presence among the Premier League’s elite.
