Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known professionally as Asake, has finally spoken out following advice from Afrobeat star Seun Kuti, who cautioned him to “be careful of Wizkid.”

The warning came in the wake of a heated online clash between Seun Kuti and Grammy-winning artist Wizkid, which recently captured the attention of Nigerian social media.

Rather than distancing himself, Asake seemed to reinforce his collaboration with Wizkid.

The conflict intensified when Seun Kuti criticized Wizkid’s fanbase, describing Wizkid FC as “the most ignorant fan base” and implying that their parents had not achieved the legacy of his father, Fela Kuti.

Wizkid responded fiercely, calling Seun a “fool at forty,” a “hungry b*stard,” and a “frog who lives in the mud.”

The tension escalated further when Seun warned Wizkid to remove Fela’s tattoo from his hand, claiming that failing to do so could prevent him from ever succeeding again.

Amidst this ongoing drama, Seun turned his focus to Asake, advising him to remain cautious, especially after the YBNL star confirmed a joint project with Wizkid.

Despite the warning, Asake officially announced on January 23, 2026, the release of his collaborative project with Wizkid, titled Real EP Vol. 1.

The news was shared via a joint Instagram post from both artists, accompanied by a stylish promotional video and the caption:

“Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi” which translates to “Real EP Vol. 1 is out now.”

This announcement comes just a week after the release of Jogodo, the EP’s lead single, on January 16, 2026.
