A Nigerian woman has been arrested with methamphetamine and cocaine worth over Rs 2 crore in Surat, Gujarat, India.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Surat, arrested the accused on Friday, January 23, 2026, The Times of India reported.

The contraband was ingeniously concealed inside multivitamin containers and cornflakes packets. The accused was later remanded to DRI custody.

Acting on specific intelligence, DRI officers intercepted the woman while she was travelling from Faridabad to Mumbai on train No. 12904, the Golden Temple Mail.

She was detained at the railway station with the assistance of railway officials, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP).

As the suspect initially denied carrying any contraband, the DRI team conducted a detailed search.

Officers recovered a packet hidden inside a multivitamin container from her purse, containing a white powdery substance.

A further personal search led to the recovery of a cornflakes packet strapped around her abdomen, which contained a yellowish crystalline substance.

Preliminary field tests using a narcotics detection kit confirmed that the white powder was cocaine, while the crystalline substance was methamphetamine.

In total, officials seized 903gm of methamphetamine and 50gm of cocaine from the passenger.

The narcotics were confiscated under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the woman was arrested for further investigation.

Authorities are now probing the source of the drugs and their intended destination.

The seized substances have been sent for laboratory analysis to determine their purity.

Based on a preliminary assessment, the methamphetamine is estimated to be worth between Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 1.8 crore, while the cocaine is valued at around Rs 50 lakh.
