Real Madrid’s manager, Alvaro Arbeloa, has hailed Jude Bellingham as a “leader” and believes the midfielder will be the “cornerstone of this team for many years.”
Arbeloa made these comments during a press conference before their upcoming Champions League match against Benfica.
If Madrid wins against the Portuguese giants, they will secure a spot in the knockout stage.
Bellingham has been in good form since Arbeloa took over from Xabi Alonso, scoring in their 6-1 victory against Monaco last week.
“Besides his footballing ability, I’ve seen a player who wants to be a leader and a role model,” Arbeloa said.
“The way he’s playing in training, his work ethic and his leadership — I’m really proud to have a player like Jude Bellingham.”
