A distraught mother has appealed to Nigerians for assistance after her daughter was abducted while en route to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp.
The post that has already gone viral on X by many users was further analyzed by Trending Explained on Thursday.
In the post, a video shows the woman crying openly in a market as she begged members of the public to help her raise money to secure her daughter’s release.
According to the post, the victim, Binuyo Lateefah, a recent Mass Communication graduate of Kwara State Polytechnic, was abducted in Kogi State while on her way to NYSC orientation camp in Taraba State.
She is said to be her mother’s only child.
The kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of ₦30 million, but the family has been able to raise only ₦1 million so far.
“Update: The kidnappers are demanding ₦30M, but only ₦1M has been raised. Binuyo Lateefah, a recent Mass Comm’ graduate of Kwara Poly, is the only child of her mother. She was kidnapped in Kogi, on her way to NYSC camp Taraba State,” Trending explained on X.
