Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has officially appointed Nigerian entrepreneur Obi Cubana as the Southeast Regional Director of the City Boy Movement, a youth-driven pro-Tinubu organization established in January 2026 to rally support for the 2027 elections.
A video that emerged on social media early Tuesday, February 3, showed Seyi handing Cubana a formal letter of appointment and recommendation for his new role. The two shared a ceremonial handshake and displayed the letter for the cameras.
A standout moment in the video was when Seyi, Cubana, and other group members performed Tinubu’s campaign anthem, “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand.”
Earlier reports from GistLover noted that Cubana had reflected on his busy week on social media. On Saturday, January 27, he posted a video of himself on a phone call, noting that his phone had been constantly ringing throughout the week.
“Phone buzzing non-stop!! What a week 🤔,” he captioned the clip on Instagram.
The video capturing Seyi Tinubu presenting Obi Cubana with the appointment letter has sparked discussions online, with some users commenting on the unusual sight of Cubana participating in the campaign anthem performance.

@engr2468:”But why did he look so uncomfortable singing “Bola, on your mandate we shall stand”? In life, we all know what we’re doing. We know when we’re acting right and when we’re not. At the end of the day, it’s democracy at work, people are free to associate with any political group.”
@Ahindehezekiah:”He is not singing the anthem comfortably self.”
@delish_farms:”lol… Bianca moved on now Obi cubana… and someone is telling Onitsha not to open?”
@SOAMQUAY:”Obi Cubana cannot even influence Councillorship in his Idemili local government . Social media /social clout is NOT political capital, especially in the SE.”
@ayampeky:”Obi Cubana will not sing keh …cowards in high places!”
