Nigerian musician 9ice, whose birth name is Abolore Adegbola Akande, recently sparked conversations online following his reaction to a cash gift from the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
A video that quickly went viral captured the moment 9ice embraced Oluomo, who was seated, and appeared to whisper prayers into his ears after receiving the money.
The NURTW leader presented 9ice with bundles of N500 notes, prompting the singer to lean in, hold him in a warm hug, and pray fervently, while Oluomo repeatedly responded with “amen.”
What initially seemed like a gesture of mutual respect and goodwill between the two well-known figures soon turned into a topic of debate across social media platforms.
