Popular Yoruba actress and filmmaker Fathia Balogun, popularly known as Fathia Williams, has called out a blogger for fuelling unnecessary controversy over her reaction to a birthday message from fellow actress Funke Akindele.

Fathia celebrated her birthday on Thursday, February 5, alongside her ex-husband and actor, Saidi Balogun. As expected, several colleagues in the entertainment industry sent in their goodwill messages, including Funke Akindele, which Fathia acknowledged.

However, a blogger took to social media to claim that the exchange between the two actresses appeared awkward, sparking speculation about an alleged rift between them.

Addressing the issue during a live video session, Fathia dismissed the claims, insisting there is no bad blood between her and the box office star. She criticised bloggers who, according to her, deliberately create drama and spread false narratives online.

Fathia explained that Funke Akindele reached out properly to celebrate her birthday and did so warmly. She added that her response, “Ose Iya Ibeji” a Yoruba phrase translating to “thank you, mother of twins” was misunderstood, stressing that there was absolutely no tension between them.

Expressing her displeasure, the actress warned bloggers against constantly manufacturing conflict where none exists and urged them to stop interfering in her personal and professional relationships. She emphasised that she had had enough of the false rumours, describing such bloggers as overly intrusive in the lives of celebrities.

The clarification comes amid memories of a previous misunderstanding in 2024, when Funke reportedly unfollowed and blocked Fathia over unreciprocated event appearances. The pair, however, reconciled in December 2025.

@MissRozapepper:”All these bloggers are doing too much.”

@theolisa_:”Bloggers are the major problem of the entertainment industry.”

@traceyabee:”Honestly if whatever a useless blog post online affects ur friendship or how you feel about someone it means you are the problem not the blogs. And everyone should avoid you. I said what i said. This is 2026 you should all know better.”

@PaulArchibong7:”Most people just want to trend without considering if the commotion they stir is hurting people’s feelings. It’s wrong and this has to stop. You shouldn’t be happy making money off people’s downfall.”

@naxmmie:”This woman is never involved in drama, it must have been so hurtful for her to make do this video. I wish she’d make an example of the goat.”
