It was learnt that the letter has caused panic among residents of Dunshigogo, with many considering fleeing the community amid fears of an imminent attack.
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists affiliated with Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) are reported to have sent a threatening letter to residents of Dunshigogo community in Kaiama Local Government Area, Kwara State.
According to SaharaReporters, it was gathered that the letter, allegedly delivered to the community, warned residents that the insurgents would soon visit the area — a language similar to a previous threat issued to Worro community, where more than 170 people were later slaughtered in a de@dly attack.
It was learnt that the letter has caused panic among residents of Dunshigogo, with many considering fleeing the community amid fears of an imminent attack.
“Information reaching me now is that Dunshigogo still under Kaiama Local Government has been served same letter, like that of Worro by terrorists.
“I understand that businesses are already closing up and people are fleeing en mass.
“I don’t even know who to call on now that won’t sabotage the lives of these people,” a top source revealed.
Efforts by SaharaReporters to independently verify and obtain a copy of the alleged letter were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, security agencies in Kwara State have yet to issue an official statement on the reported threat.
Kwara State, previously considered relatively insulated from large-scale insurgent violence, has in recent years witnessed increasing security threats, including attacks linked to armed groups operating along forest corridors connecting the North-Central and North-West regions.
On February 4, 2026, SaharaReporters reported that dozens of people have been brutally massacred following a coordinated and de@dly attack by suspected Sahel-backed terrorists on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Among those k!lled in the bloody onslaught are two wives of the Emir of Woro, several of his children, the Chief Imam of Woro, a school principal, a headmistress, and students who had just returned home from school.
The Emir himself, Alhaji Saliu Bio Umar, is currently missing, sparking fears that he may have been abducted or k!lled by the attackers.
SaharaReporters gathered that the terrorists are allegedly linked to a Sadiku-led Boko Haram faction with suspected operational ties to terrorist networks operating across the Sahel region.
The attackers reportedly invaded Woro last Tuesday evening, unleashing unprecedented violence on residents and passersby.
The terrorists k!lled indiscriminately, slaughtering men, women, and children.
“They were k!lling anyone they met,” a source had said, adding that travellers passing through Woro to other destinations were also murdered during the rampage.
The Chief Imam of Woro, regarded as a key religious figure in the area, was also k!lled, alongside a school principal and a headmistress. Several students who had just returned from school were not spared.
The attackers also reportedly slit the throats of some victims, particularly farmers and traders who had travelled from Ilorin to Woro for agricultural and commercial activities. These individuals were caught unawares as the militants swept through the area.
Several lifeless bodies were seen lying on the ground, while some buildings in the community have been burnt.
A voice in the video confirmed that the Emir was missing and that his wives and children had been k!lled, as flames engulfed sections of the palace.
