Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has said his side will put measures in place to limit the threat of Victor Osimhen when they face Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League playoff.
The two sides are set to meet in the first leg at RAMS Park on Tuesday night, with Osimhen expected to spearhead the Turkish club’s attack.
The Nigerian striker has scored six goals in six Champions League appearances this season. His attacking partner, Mauro Icardi, also comes into the fixture in strong form after netting a hat-trick in Galatasaray’s 4-0 victory over Eyüpspor last weekend under coach Okan Buruk.
Spalletti acknowledged the danger posed by the duo and stressed the need to cut off their supply.
“Osimhen and Icardi are both top players, though they offer different qualities. When they combine, they can cause serious problems,” he said during his pre-match press conference.
“As strikers, they understand their roles perfectly — one disrupts the defence, the other capitalises on the spaces created.
“They are exceptionally talented. Our objective will be to keep them away from the ball as much as possible. Galatasaray’s overall quality makes this a tough challenge for us.”
