Transfer: Nigerian-born Defender Joins Dutch Club Sparta Rotterdam

Nigeria-born defender Hamdi Akujobi has joined Dutch club Excelsior Rotterdam on a free transfer, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Akujobi signed a contract until the end of the season with the option for another year.

The 26-year-old is currently recuperating from a cruciate ligament injury he sustained during his time with SC Heerenveen .

He is in the final stages of his rehabilitation.

The right-back is a quality addition to the Excelsior’s team due to his his Eredivisie experience.

Akujobi started his career with Feyenoord, and has also played for Almere City .
