Hull City head coach, Sergej Jakirovic has provided a positive injury update on defender Semi Ajayi, NEWSUNPLUG reports.

Ajayi picked up an injury in Nigeria’s third-place encounter against the Pharaohs of Egypt at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations last month.

The centre-back has missed Hull City’s last six games across all competitions as a result of the injury

Jakirovic revealed that the Rotherham United player will return to training with his teammates next week.

“Semi Ajayi, next week he will start group training with us,” Jakirovic was quoted by Hull City Live.

The 32-year-old joined Hull City on a free transfer last summer after severing ties with West Bromwich Albion.

He has made 12 league appearances for the Tigers, scoring one goal.
