Following Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Wolves on Tuesday, former striker, Michael Owen has called out four Reds players for their performances.
Owen expressed concerns about the form of Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo, suggesting it has dropped this season.
The former England international also pointed to the shortcomings of fullbacks – Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, suggesting they fail to measure up to their predecessors.
“I’m just not convinced about one or two players at Liverpool,” Owen told Premier League Productions.
“In four places, Liverpool are weaker, much weaker, than last season.
“Is that transition, or is [Mohamed], Salah getting older, is [Cody] Gakpo not quite the same this season? The full-backs [ Kerkez and Frimpong] aren’t as good as the previous Liverpool full-backs, so they’re definitely going to weaken the team.”
