The United States expects to achieve “complete” control of Iranian airspace within hours as military operations against Iran continue for a fifth day, according to the White House.
Speaking on Wednesday, March 4, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said American forces were close to establishing full aerial dominance. “We expect to have complete and total dominance over Iranian airspace in the coming hours,” she said.
Earlier, Pete Hegseth said the United States and Israel were working together to secure control of Iranian skies. “We will have complete control of Iranian skies, uncontested airspace,” Hegseth said, though he did not provide a specific timeline.
He added that the objective was to allow allied forces to operate freely in targeting Iran’s military capabilities.
“That means we will fly all day, all night, day and night, finding, fixing and finishing the missiles and defense industrial base of the Iranian military,” he said. The statement comes as joint US–Israeli military operations continue across Iran, with both countries targeting missile sites and defence infrastructure as part of the escalating conflict in the region.
