A woman accused of trying to k!ll her husband is now facing an indictment in Alabama, United States, WBRC reportef on March 4, 2026, citing court documents.

Sara Baker, who worked as an attorney in Cullman County and previously worked for the District Attorney’s Office, was arrested in November 2025 after reportedly putting fentanyl in the food or drink of her husband, James Doyle Baker.

Court documents say the incidents happened on Sept. 4, Sept. 12 and Sept. 20, 2025.

Alabama Bar Association suspended her in December, a little over a week after her arrest.

According to court documents, Baker, 75, was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit m8rder; three counts of attempt to commit m8rder; second-degree domestic violence; second-degree elder abuse; unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; and four counts of solicitation to commit a controlled substance crime.

Court records, per WBRC, show a witness listed in the case against Baker is also one of her clients.

That witness, a 39-year-old woman, was indicted in August by a grand jury on an allegation that she swallowed fentanyl in an attempt to destroy evidence in a case in which Baker was representing her.

The grand jury also returned an indictment against the woman for possessing burglary tools.
