Ticket prices for Portugal’s next friendly game against Mexico have crashed after it was confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo is injured.
Ronaldo walked off the field during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory against Al Fayha on Saturday, February 28.
On Tuesday, March 3, Al-Nassr announced that he is out of action due to a hamstring injury.
More troubling information came out as Al-Nassr’s manager, Jorge Jesus, talked before their home league match on Saturday against Neom SC.
He said Ronaldo’s injury is worse than first thought, and the Portugal captain is going to Madrid for treatment. The 41-year-old will play for Portugal in some international matches later this month.
Portugal will play against Mexico first at Estadio Azteca on March 28, then they will face the United States on March 31 as part of their World Cup preparation.
But because of his recent injury, he might not be able to play in the two friendlies anymore.
Recently, the cost of tickets for the friendly game between Mexico and Portugal has gone down.
A few weeks ago, tickets were selling for about 10,000 Mexican pesos, but now they are being sold for around 4,000 pesos or even less.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in football, but he has never played a game in Mexico before.
This friendly match at the Azteca Stadium is much more important than a regular exhibition game because of that.
Even though his career is coming to an end, Ronaldo still shows off his skills for the Portugal national team.
He is still the country’s player with the most caps and the highest total goals scored.
